Living Hope's W-ELCA
WELCA of Living Hope Lutheran Church
As a community of women created in the image of God,
Called to discipleship in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit,
We commit ourselves to
Grow in faith,
Affirm our gifts,
Support one another in our callings,
Engage in ministry and action, and
Promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.
When reading or saying out loud the purpose statement of the WELCA, one feels a direct connection with the women of our church. Together the women of Living Hope strive to do all they can achieve this purpose.
The WELCA of Living Hope plan is to meet four times a year after a Sunday morning worship. At these meetings we usually have a LWR relief project to put together such as School Kits or Personal Care Kits. We then have a short meeting to go over any concerns that need attending.
During the course of the year the Living Hope Lutheran WELCA undertakes such projects as the making of quilts for local agency use and LWR. We also put together kits for LWR. We serve funerals, provide meals for special occasions, organize fundraisers, help supply needs for local agencies such as Western Dairyland, the Salvation Army, New Horizons, etc. and help fund special projects that our church undertakes.
Who are we? We are a community of women who gather to grow in faith and live our faith through ministry and action. In Women of the ELCA, you will find:
